Direct from a real custom jewelry factory — CAD approval before production, private project tracking

Do I Need a CAD File to Start Custom Jewelry?

Direct answer

No. You do not need a CAD file, a 3D model or any technical drawing to start — most projects here begin as a hand sketch, a photo, an AI image or a plain description. Our CAD studio builds the production-ready model from what you send and you approve it before anything is made. If you already have a CAD file it is useful, but never required.

Where the CAD actually comes from

The CAD is a step we produce, not a step you must arrive with. You send your idea in whatever form is natural — a drawing on paper, a photo of a piece you own, a render, or written notes — and we read it into a 3D model that carries the real dimensions, wall thickness, stone seats and engraving. That model is what gets approved, sampled and cast. Requiring a CAD file up front would be backwards: the whole point of a factory with an in-house CAD studio is to make the file for you.

When a CAD file does help: if you already have one from another designer, send it — we can usually work from it directly, check it for manufacturability, and quote faster. If you do not, it changes nothing about whether your project can proceed. A clean picture or sketch is genuinely enough to begin.

The honest trade-off is only about precision, not permission. A rough input is workable and normal; the more views and measurements you can give us, the fewer follow-up questions and the less CAD restoration time. You will see the finished CAD and approve it before production either way — so the model, not your original file, is the thing that has to be right.

More questions on this

Can you make jewelry without a CAD file?+

Yes — we create the CAD from your sketch, photo or idea. Most projects never start from a 3D file.

I have a CAD file already — can you use it?+

Often yes. Send it; we'll check it for manufacturability, quote from it and confirm the model with you before production.

Who approves the CAD — me or you?+

You do. Nothing is cast or set until you approve the CAD renders, so the model you confirm is exactly what we make.

Have a question we didn't answer?

Send it with your idea — a real person at the factory replies, usually within a business day.
