Can I Get a Sample Before Bulk Production?
Quick answer
Yes. A physical sample lets you evaluate the real piece before you commit to a production run. It reveals physical details that a sketch, CAD model or rendering alone can't fully show — so you're judging the actual object, not a picture of it, before we make more.
CAD vs sample: two different checks
CAD and a sample answer different questions. You need both at different stages:
CAD
Defines the design digitally — dimensions, geometry, stone settings — and is cheap to revise. Approve it before anything physical is made.
Sample
Lets you hold and evaluate the actual object — scale, weight, comfort, finish. It is the check that digital models cannot pass.
How a sample is made
- 1
CAD approved
The design is locked as an approved CAD model before any physical sample is produced.
- 2
Prototype
The model is printed in wax or resin and cast in your chosen metal to produce the sample.
- 3
Review and revise
You evaluate the sample and request changes; the specification is revised before production.
- 4
Approval → production
Once the sample meets the agreed design and requirements, bulk production begins.
Sample questions, answered
Why make a sample before production?+
A physical sample lets you evaluate the actual product — scale, weight, comfort, finish — before committing to a full production run. It reveals what a sketch, CAD or render cannot.
What can a sample reveal that CAD cannot?+
Scale, weight, comfort, finishing and tactile quality — the real-world characteristics that are difficult to judge from a digital model.
Can I request changes after receiving the sample?+
Yes. If the sample reveals changes, the design or production specifications can be reviewed and revised before bulk production, subject to the project requirements.
Do I need to approve the sample before production?+
For custom products, sample approval provides an important checkpoint — it confirms the physical product meets the agreed design and requirements before bulk production begins.
